A midwestern research university relies upon a Kohler 180RZD genset to provide a facility with onsite emergency power. After many decades of operation, the genset ceased to operate and was deemed unserviceable as replacement components were unavailable. Due to local emissions ordinances and the genset still meeting their output needs, the university opted for a retrofit. Our experience in genset restoration, backup power, and modernizing technologies led to the university contacting Peaker Services, Inc. to develop a solution for this genset.
